HOW AM I ELIGIBLE?
Eligibility for free or reduced priced school meal benefits is based on any one of these 3 things:
Your total household income and size
Your child's individual status as foster, homeless, migrant, or runaway
Participation in an assistance program (see below) by any member of your household
NOTE: Your U.S. citizenship, immigration status, or not having a SSN does not affect your eligibility for receiving benefits. We encourage everyone to apply.
Children or households currently approved for Food Stamps (SNAP), Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), Family Employment Program (FEP), or some Medicaid programs are eligible for free or reduced meal or milk benefits.
There are two ways the household may qualify for free meals:
1) Mana Academy will approve these children for free meals through the direct certification process and no application is required for free meal benefits or,
2) The household may contact the Mana Academy and indicate the qualifying assistance program in which they participate.
Lastly, we've compiled a list of the information you might need to complete the application.
Review the Income Eligibility Guidelines for the 2019-2020 school year.
If you are a participant of any assistance programs, have your case number ready.
If you are not a participant of assistance programs, gather any income documentation for all members of your household.
