SUN (Summer Nutrition for Kids - a USDA program)

Mana parents, we want you to be aware of two meal programs this summer by the USDA —SUN Meals and SUN Bucks—to provide our Mana kids the nutrition they need in the summer when school meals aren’t available.

SUN Meals

With SUN Meals, kids of all ages can eat meals and snacks during the summer at no cost at schools, parks, and other neighborhood locations.

Download the SUN Meals flyer at the links below for more information.

Sun Bucks

Utah SUN Bucks – Summer EBT

With the Utah Sun Bucks program, any Utah child in grades K-12 for the 2024-25 school year who currently receives free or reduced-price meals will automatically receive this benefit. No application is needed.

Utah SUN Bucks can help families buy food during the summer when schools are closed. Families get $120 for each eligible school-age child. If your household is already on SNAP, SUN Bucks will be added to your SNAP account or issued as a separate electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card this summer.

To ensure your child receives their Utah Sun Bucks, please check with the front desk that your mailing address is correct in Aspire. This is crucial for receiving your benefits without delay. The flyers below provide more information or visit: https://jobs.utah.gov/customereducation/services/sebt/.
