In World Geography, our 9th grade scholars are learning about the effects of mass urbanization, immigration, and the movement of refugees to answer the guiding question: How can governmental policies have both intended and unintended consequences for population and migration? They researched the refugee crisis affecting Afghanistan, Syria, Myanmar and South Sudan, all who have sizeable communities here in Utah. After researching and gathering information, they curated a gallery walk of photos sourced from the internet accompanied by an audio tour. They wrote their own script, recorded and edited their own audio track. Viewers scan a QR code to trigger the audio tour. The last photo contains another QR code that connects viewers to a website they created to provide more context on the refugee crisis.
